Project Overview
A recent project in Trafford exemplified our commitment to high standards and specialized skills, particularly in handling large format tiles. The client had experienced issues with leaks and was dissatisfied with their previous bathroom setup. They hired us because they knew we uphold extremely high standards and possess the expertise to handle challenging tasks, such as fitting large format tiles.
Initial Assessment and Preparations
Upon assessing the bathroom, we identified several key areas needing attention. The walls required significant preparation to bear the weight of the 1200×600 tiles the client desired. This involved ensuring the walls were perfectly flat and stable. We used top-spec adhesives specifically designed for large format tiles to guarantee durability and precision in the layout, maximizing the visual impact of the tiles.
Tile Selection and Installation
The client chose a sophisticated combination of tiles:
- Marble Gloss: Applied to a couple of the walls for a luxurious, reflective finish.
- Marble Matte: Used on the floor to provide a non-slip surface while maintaining the elegance of marble.
- Deep Blue Pattern Effect Tile: Featured in the shower area as a stunning focal point.
Our team meticulously laid out the tiles to achieve a seamless and visually appealing result, ensuring that the tiles around the window, which was slightly out of square, looked perfect.
Additional Installations
Beyond tiling, the project included:
- Sink Unit with Worktop and Storage: We installed a sink unit integrated with a worktop and ample storage space, optimizing the utility of the small bathroom.
- New Toilet: A modern, efficient toilet was fitted to enhance the bathroom’s functionality.
- Hardwired Light: Ensuring reliable and consistent lighting.
- Large Radiator: Installed to provide sufficient space for drying towels and maintaining a comfortable temperature.
Plumbing and Shower Area Enhancements
The shower area required a new drainage system, as the previous setup was inadequate. We installed an 8mm thick high-quality glass shower screen, adding to the bathroom’s premium feel. The grey slate effect shower tray complemented the overall design, offering both style and durability.
Our commitment to quality was evident in the plumbing work, where we solder welded all joints, avoiding push-fit connections wherever possible to ensure long-lasting and reliable performance.
